Attention is hereby called to the proclamation of the governor of our state in which he designates the week of April 17th to 22nd, inclusive, as Cleanup Week in the state of Kansas.

Three stores were entered by burglars Friday night of last week — the Loveless-Seneker store, the Ehrlich-Schmersey grocery, and the store where the old Loveless stock is being sold out. Nothing was gotten at the last-named place, and only a few dollars at the other two. The thieves evidently were after money alone.

Isaac Good is the owner of a new Studebaker Six, and C.W. Thompson owner of a new Hudson Six.

The second new city engine has arrived and is being installed this week. It is just like the one already in use except that it is of smaller size. The Marion plant will be one of the finest small-city plants in Kansas.

Henry Sallee and family are the owners of a new eight-passenger Hupmobile. He and Charles Locklin drove it home from Kansas City.

The April typewriting test was given last Friday at the high school. Those who passed the 25-word-per-minute test are Margarete Apel, Janie Chapman, Emery Hawbecker, Albert Holder, Frank Ireland, Lydia Miller, Mabel Parker, France Thies, Alfred Thomas, and Harry Vance. Augusta Frobenius passed the 40-word test.
