MORE

JUNE 2, 1876

School closed last Friday at Marion Centre. After nine months of constant, faithful, profitable labor, teachers and pupils have betaken themselves to the joys of a needed, deserved vacation.

A large number of friends of the school visited it Friday, and in this they did well. Parents and guardians cannot too often attend the place where the minds of their children and wards are being molded.

If you owe Mrs. Tamiet anything, go and pay her. She needs her money.

Levi Billings has a fine vineyard, and his vines are heavily hung with grapes.

The ladies sewing society of Marion Centre will have a fair and festival the second week in June. It will be in the midst of the strawberry and cream season, and those delicacies will be there in delicious abundance.

The rust that threatened injury to wheat and has been causing considerable apprehensions among farmers now seems destined to do but little damage thanks to a timely rain, high winds, and warm weather.
