Marion’s new pumper fire truck arrived this past week. The truck was driven from South Dakota by volunteer firefighter and city employee Thad Meierhoff.

A 2001 graduate of Marion High School, Steven Janzen, is returning this week to be an officer with Marion police department. After graduation from Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Janzen worked at Nickerson and was a guard at Hutchison Correctional Center.

Marion Ogden presented a program about antiques at a March 6 meeting of 20th Century Club. Members showed treasured antiques. Ogden critiqued each item and placed a value on what he thought they were worth.

Chelsea Arnhold won 107 matches in her wrestling career at Marion High School — wrestling with boys. A 2005 graduate, she was rewarded for her efforts by being named to the 2005 TheMat.com / ASICS girls’ high school all-American wrestling team.

Rodney Mueller bowled a perfect 300 game Sunday at Salina Men’s City Bowling Tournament. The achievement was rewarded with a gold ring from United States Bowling Association.
