Marion Auto Supply has invited the public to an open house Saturday to celebrate the firm’s 25th anniversary in business in Marion. Also on Saturday, owner Jack Regnier’s wife, Marge, and daughter-in-law Karen will have an open house at their new ladies’ fashion store, Reflections, next door east of the auto parts firm.

Juanita Helmer received a 10-year service pin and certificate last week from District Judge William Clement for her years of service to the courts. Helmer started working for the county court in 1975 and transferred to district court in 1977.

Mike Padgett is Marion High School artist of the month for February. A junior who lives near Florence, he drew an illustration of a bobcat as an independent advanced art project.

Jo Ellen Vinduska and Kirk Wyatt were crowned homecoming queen and king during halftime ceremonies Friday at Centre High School.

Marion High School senior girls who were pages Feb. 18 at the legislature in Topeka were Wendy Hett, Fawn Keith, Stacey and Tracey Long, and Kody Sader. They were sponsored by Rep. Duane Goossen and Sen. Jerry Karr.

Paige Brunner will represent Centre Elementary School in the Marion County spelling bee. Brunner, a sixth grader, won an elimination competition Feb. 19 at the school.
