Ezra Bernhardt retired from the Marion police force June 1 after more than 20 years of service as a law enforcement officer.
Bernhardt became a member of the sheriff’s department in 1954 and was elected sheriff in 1956. In 1969, after 15 years of service to the county, he joined the Marion police, where he has worked ever since.
