Baseball, softball regionals to be in Marion

The stage has been set for boys baseball with KSHSAA regional assignments being released over the weekend.

Marion (18-4) will play at home at 5 tonight against Rosalia-Flinthills (7-16) in the first round of the Class 2-1A.

The cooperative Hillsboro and Peabody-Burns team (4-14) will travel Thursday to play Haven (17-7) in the first round of the Class 3A bracket.

Softball

This week being the final week for softball games, regional assignments are not final.

Marion’s softball complex will be the site Class 2-1A regional managed by Jason Hett.

Marion and Hillsboro girls will play in that same regional bracket.

Hillsboro lost two games Friday to Pratt and was scheduled to play its last game of the season early this week.

Marion won their first game of the season last week, defeating Moundridge, 14-13.

The Lady Warriors’ game Monday was canceled because of the threat of severe weather.
