Jim Delk

Visitation for James “Jim” Delk, 79, who died Saturday at Salem Home in Hillsboro, will be 5 to 7 tonight at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Edna. At his request, no other services will be conducted.

Born March 30, 1947, in Goessel to Clifford and Evelyn Delk, he was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro, working with his parents at Hillsboro Lockers until they retired.

He also worked as a welder at Circle D and Hillsboro Industries and transporting vehicles for Midway Motors.

Survivors include daughters Sheila Jones, Mary Warden, Deb Montgomery, and Barb Hoberecht; stepdaughter Jamie Montelaro; sisters Margaret Tice and Pam Abbott; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Elaine, his wife of 33 years, preceded him in death as did stepson Troy Peterson and sisters Kathy Schmidt and Bev Flaming.

A memorial has been established with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
