ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies generally are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Feb. 2 — A driver was warned for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the 200 block of N. Adams St. Police investigated an alarm in the 700 block of S. Lincoln St. and a wreck at Ampride.
Feb. 3 — A child who ran away was found and returned to Hillsboro Elementary School. Traffic control was provided after a semi-trailer truck broke down near US-56 and Santa Fe St. A dog was reported loose in the 100 block of S. Adams St. A driver was warned for loud exhaust at Washington and D Sts. Police served a Harvey County order of protection from abuse and helped the sheriff’s office try to find a person who ended up being in Newton.
Feb. 4 — A criminal complaint in an incident of domestic battery and violation of a protection order is pending. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 100 block of S. Wilson St. A dog was reported missing in the 300 block of N. Madison St.
Thursday — Police checked on a resident of the 700 block of S. Washington St.
Friday — A driver was warned for running a stop sign in the 100 block of N. Birch St. A dog was reported loose in the 400 block of W. Grand Ave.
Saturday — Police helped a resident of the 100 block of N. Washington St. with a lockbox and talked to a resident about a civil issue.
Sunday — A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving without a valid license in the 700 block of E. D St. Police again talked to a resident about a civil matter.
MARION
Feb. 2 — Police were sent to St. Luke Clinic to help deal with a combative 74-year-old woman suffering hallucinations. They also investigated an accident involving two teen-agers, one of them not a licensed driver, at Roosevelt and Sherman Sts. Two other drivers were warned for equipment violations at US-56 and Timber Rd.
Feb. 3 — Investigation of a possible breach of privacy is continuing.
Feb. 4 — Police investigated a noise complaint at an unspecified location. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St. and at Main and 3rd Sts.
Thursday — Suspicious behavior at Dollar General was investigated. Two drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Timber Rd.
Friday — Traffic stops at Main and Elm Sts. and at US-56 and Cedar St. resulted in a ticket for driving with a suspended license and a warning for an equipment violation.
Saturday — Three drivers were warned for equipment violations near Main and Elm Sts., Main and 3rd Sts., and 3rd and Maple Sts.
Sunday — Police helped with a custody exchange in the 900 block of Highland St. A traffic stop at Main and 3rd St. and two at US-56 and Timber Rd. resulted in warnings for speeding and equipment violations and a ticket for having no vehicle liability insurance.
