ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies generally are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
March 30 — Residents were warned about allowing a dog to be loose in the 300 block of E. A St. and about illegal burning in the 300 block of N. Washington St.
March 31 — A wreck in the post office parking lot was investigated. Police met with a resident about illegal burning in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St.
April 1 — Police met with a resident about a loose dog and backed up sheriff’s deputies on several traffic stops deputies made within the city. No reports of those stops have been released by the sheriff’s department.
Thursday — A wreck in the 200 block of S. Washington St. was investigated. Police talked to a resident about a child custody issue and looked for a dog loose in the 700 block of S. Washington St.
Friday — A traffic stop in the 400 block of N. Ash St. led to an arrest on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. Police helped a driver with a dead battery in the 100 block of S. Main St.
Saturday — Police helped deputies with two mental health calls outside the city, including one in Peabody. Drivers were warned for running a stop sign at Elm St. and Grand Ave. and for distracted driving in the 100 block of W. 2nd St. Police helped a driver with a tire issue in the 400 block of N. Ash St.
Sunday — An alarm in the 300 block of S. Wilson St. was determined to be false, and a disconnected 911 call in the 100 block of S. Wilson St. was determined to have been caused by a child playing with a phone.
MARION
March 30 — Police investigated a wreck in the 1200 block of Commercial Dr., but no accident report was released. Justin L. Gaddy, 30, Salina, was arrested on a Saline County warrant for failing to appear in court. He was released 1½ hours later after posting $50 cash bail. Police helped sheriff’s deputies who made a traffic stop at Santa Fe and 1st Sts. No report of the stops has been released by the sheriff’s department. Two drivers were warned for equipment violations and one for speeding at Main and 1st Sts., at US-56 and Timber Rd., and at US-56 and Cedar St.
March 31 — A dog was reported loose in the 600 block of S. Roosevelt St. Police helped a child with a bicycle issue at Marion Elementary School and helped sheriff’s deputies with a drug investigation at the county lake. A person reportedly was arrested, but no offense report has been released by the sheriff’s department.
April 1 — A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St. Officers made a traffic stop at US HWY 56/ Cedar. Driver issued warning for speed. Officers provided unspecified help to someone in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.
Thursday — A dog was reported loose at Oasis special education school.
Friday — Unspecified vandalism was reported in Central Park. No offense report has been released. A dog was reported loose in the 600 block of S. Freeborn St. Police helped sheriff’s deputies with a traffic stop at K-256 and Upland Rds. No report of the stop has been released by the sheriff’s department. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Timber Rd. Police checked on a resident of the 500 block of S. Cedar St.
Saturday — A traffic stop on US-56 at Timber Rd. resulted in three arrests on suspicion of possession of methamphetamines, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia along with driving with a suspended license. No offense report has been released. A separate driver was warned for an equipment violation on US-56 at Timber Rd.
Sunday — A resident complained about trespassing in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. A driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St.
