ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies typically are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
June 1 — A wreck at Ash St. and Grand Ave. was investigated. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from Barkman Honey.
June 2 — Contact information for a locksmith was provided to a driver locked out of a vehicle.
June 3 — A Jost Fabrication employee was arrested after a pistol missing from a customer’s vehicle was found in the employee’s vehicle. A passenger in a vehicle stopped for running a stop sign was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana. Another driver was arrested on suspicion of driving with a revoked license, having no insurance, and having a defective license plate light in the 400 block of W. D St. A third driver was ticketed for having no liability insurance and warned for running a stop sign at 190th and Holly Rds. Police also checked on a driver parked at Midway Motors and helped check car seats for kids.
Thursday — A wreck on private property at Tabor College was investigated.
Friday — Several drivers were warned for making U-turns on Main St. Police checked on a person walking along Indigo Rd.
Saturday — Police helped a sheriff’s deputy with an unspecified traffic stop on US-56 at Indigo Rd. No problems were found in investigating an alarm at an unspecified business in the 100 block of N. Main St. A driver was ticketed for running a stop sign at D and Ash Sts.
Sunday — No problems again were found in checking on another alarm from an unspecified business in the 100 block of N. Main St. Nor were problems found in checking on a reportedly suspicious person in the 400 block of N. Ash St. Police looked for a reportedly speeding vehicle on 3rd St. and met with kids fishing at a pond in Hillsboro Heights.
MARION
June 1 — Police investigated an animal complaint in the 700 block of S. Roosevelt St., helped arrange a pedestrian’s transportation to Herington, helped sheriff’s deputies investigate a burglar alarm at Jump Start in Florence, and warned two drivers for speeding or an equipment violation in traffic stops on US-56 at Timber Rd.
June 2 — A report of fraud remains under investigation. An Emporia man was arrested at a disturbance in the 400 block of N. 2nd St. Two drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 at Timber Rd.
June 3 — Drivers were warned for speeding or equipment violations in two traffic stops — one at Main and 1st Sts. and the other on US-56 at Timber Rd.
Thursday — Police found no problems in investigating an unspecified complaint in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. The owner of two dogs loose near the Kansas Department of Transportation shops was contacted, and the dogs were returned home.
Friday — No problems were found in investigating a report of a disturbance in the 100 block of Washington St. Police helped sheriff’s deputies with an unspecified disturbance in Peabody. A driver was warned for making a J-turn at Main and 4th Sts,
Saturday — An unspecified report of harassment was resolved. A fawn in a back yard on Moore St. left on its own. Police investigated a wreck at Main and Lincoln Sts. A reportedly open door to an automated teller at Central National Bank was secure when police investigated.
Sunday — A driver was warned for speeding at Main and Elm Sts. A disabled vehicle was towed to the side of Denver St. near Cedar St.
