Sharon Andes
Services for Sharon Lynn Andes, 77, Galva, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, March 14, 2026, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.
Visitation will be at 6:15 p.m. and Rosary at 7:15 p.m. March 24 at the church.
She was born Oct. 27, 1948, and graduated from Marion High School in 1966. After high school, she attended business school in Wichita and later began a 40-year career with Scully Estates, where she managed land and ranch operations with dedication.
Sharon’s Catholic faith was central to her life. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish in McPherson, where she sang in the choir, assisted with offertory duties, and previously taught catechism classes.
Throughout her life, Sharon’s many hobbies brought her joy. She participated in bowling leagues and tournaments, enjoyed camping and fishing — often boasting the largest or most fish — and loved cooking and hosting her family’s annual Fourth of July barbecue, complete with softball, volleyball, and fireworks.
Sharon also was a talented crafter, sewing, rug hooking, and diamond-dot painting, and she proudly supported Relay for Life.
In 1992, Sharon married Dave Andes. Together they shared a life full of travel and adventures from helicopter and hot-air balloon rides to harbor cruises and museums they loved to explore.
An extended camping trip across the Northwestern United States and into Alaska was just one highlight. Over 33 years, they visited 47 of the 48 lower states and traveled to Europe twice. Sharon even joined her nephew’s school trip as a chaperone for a third European adventure.
Family meant everything to Sharon. She was devoted to her children, attending school events and parish activities and taking family trips.
She carried these traditions forward with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, proudly cheering them on in all their endeavors.
Sharon’s warm smile and generous spirit brightened every room.
She was active at Galva Senior Center, where she formed cherished friendships, served on the board of directors, and helped with potluck meals and activities. The support and companionship she found there was of great comfort in recent years.
Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Raleigh; her parents, George and Marge Endres; and her sister, Donna Dearmore.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Dave Andes; sons Gary Raleigh (and wife Jalena), Mark Raleigh (and wife Michelle), and Geoff Andes; grandchildren Mitch Raleigh (and wife Lexi), Cole Collins (and wife Naussica), Shannah Collins, Kelsey Raleigh, and Zach Raleigh; and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters Pat Hajek, Mary Endres, Ruth Russell, and Lori Kirkpatrick (and husband Duane) and brother Joe Endres (and wife Susan) along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Galva Senior Center, 218 S. Main St., Galva.
Sharon’s love, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
